Hi, I'm Christian

When you choose a NYC elopement, you’re choosing something that’s honest and to the point. No fluff, no hours of portraits, no complicated schedule. Just you, your person, and the moment.

For Melissa and Chase, that moment happened at City Hall in Manhattan. I flew into the city and back home on the same day, camera in hand, just in time to meet them at the courthouse. They were already in line when I arrived, ready to elope in NYC with zero hesitation and full hearts.

I’m always down to jump on a plane and meet couples wherever they are. Whether it’s five minutes at City Hall or a full weekend on the coast, if it matters to you, it matters to me.

Why They Chose a City Hall Elopement NYC

Melissa and Chase wanted a sweet, meaningful way to make it official. No guest list. No ceremony arch. Just the two of them and a courthouse backdrop that felt as real and unfiltered as the love they share.

City Hall offered exactly that. It’s not glamorous, but it has character. Numbered windows, a tiny gift shop, bright lights, and a fast-moving line of couples all there for the same reason. They waited, handled a little bit of classic NYC attitude from the staff, and when their number was called, they walked up to the counter, exchanged vows and rings, and sealed it with a kiss.

They even caught the attention of a documentary crew filming inside, who asked to record part of their experience. Real love, real fast, and a little bit of New York magic thrown in.

What to Expect When You Elope in NYC

If you’re planning to elope in NYC, there are a few things you should know. The ceremony at City Hall moves quickly. Most are under two minutes. If you’ve hired a photographer, timing is everything. Be on time and ready to go when your number is called.

Lighting inside the courthouse is not ideal. The rooms are brightly lit with overhead fluorescents and usually filled with people. Choose a photographer who knows how to work with the space and move fast.

You’ll still spend time waiting. Even with an appointment, there are security checks and a number system, and it’s not unusual to wait a while before you’re called.

You’ll need a valid photo ID, a witness (your photographer can often fill this role), and a marriage license picked up at least 24 hours beforehand.

Why I Love NYC Elopements

There’s something refreshing about keeping it simple. No pressure to perform. No over-planning. Just two people choosing each other, signing a piece of paper, and walking out into the noise of the city as newlyweds.

Whether you’re flying in for the day or keeping it local, I’d love to be there for your NYC elopement. Get in touch here if you’re ready to keep it short, sweet, and real—just the way you want it.
